What did you get out of the process which you weren’t expecting?
I have obtained a level of clarity in respect of a number of matters which, not having previously engaged in coaching, I hadn’t appreciated that I could, or would, obtain from engaging in a coaching relationship. Clarity is key; it is the first step in the process of trying to embark on, and achieve, one’s life goals. Kit was the first person I heard say: “we are human beings and not human doings” – I have come to understand that with just being, clarity makes an appearance.
What was the most significant thing you took away from coaching with Kit?
Kit has highlighted, to me, the importance of remembering that as individuals, we have choices and that no matter how much life circumstances suggest that we do not; in reality, we do. And, that, I have come to recognise, is one of the most liberating things that an individual could ever come to understand.
Why would you recommend Kit?
I would recommend Kit because I do think that Kit understands the art of guiding people down the path of realising their own truths and finding answers in their own time. The key term here being, ‘guiding’. He offers, and does not impose, a view, advice, his thoughts etc. and it is with that approach that he is able to get people to gain an understanding of the existence of an issue or find a solution to it without feeling pressured to do so. I would also recommend Kit because he is not one-dimensional; he is interested in you, as a whole, and not just the part of you which led you to seek out a coach. Above all, I would recommend Kit because he cares; a quality which is key for the role of (but does not always come naturally to) a coach.
Describe the coaching process with Kit in 3 words?
Discerning, Unmasking, Laughter-Inducing.
How would you explain the coaching process to a friend or colleague (high level)?
Having a sounding board who, in reality, is much more than that and is able to help you see things a bit more clearly than (or differently to the way) you had seen them in the past and is, perhaps, able to help you find answers, a new path or whatever else it may be. Having a non-judgmental friend whose only goal is to see you succeed – whatever success means to you.

What did you get out of the coaching process which you weren’t expecting?
A broader expansion of thinking on what I brought to the table. He expands your line of thinking around the subject that you were dealing with, as in, the journey that you’re on. So, he enabled you to think, much more broadly, through quite lateral questioning. That was a nice surprise. That was a continual theme or skill that he brought to the table. What was the most significant thing you took away from coaching with Kit?
When I’m planning on something, rather than having a tendency to be quite impulsive, like a lot of entrepreneurs, stopping before jumping in and stepping back and questioning from slightly different angles, and in different ways. So not always sat your desk, for example, with Kit, what was quite interesting is we went for a walk on a beach, that was a coaching thing. It’s too easy to jump into your old ways that have worked for resolving decisions, when you’re faced with choices.
That’s a big skill for any business person entrepreneur – so often, we just make decisions, when faced with choices in a very staged traditional way that we used to.Why would you recommend kit?
For quite a lot of reasons, actually. And, I have done to several people who have taken coaching with him, and in fact, I’m about to go and meet one of them now who, hopefully he will engage with.
So the question is really, why do I recommend him? Because I actually do, often! And for different reasons. And, again, I’m not answering your question directly. But just to give you background, I see people in different challenges in their life, be that personal conflicting with work or work conflicting with personal. And so that’s where I have recommended Kit, because he’s not just a business coach, but a life coach, and he’s got an ability to understand and dig down deeply into underlying personal conflicts, in someone’s personal life they may have which is feeding through them, blocking them from being able to progress in business, or they’re just so bogged down with the work chaos. And that they’re impacting adversely on their family and personal life. So, he’s a good tool to help support people in dealing with either side, and hopefully finding a more balanced way to go forward. And I think in summary, that’s why I recommend him because, I know it’s a bit of a cliche, but he’s got a skill and experience in life, to help people strike that better ultimate balance and happiness, which is what, ultimately for us, what everybody wants to try and achieve and improve oneself. And he’s very good at doing that.
He’s got experience. You meet a lot of coaches and I get approached lots of times by coaches, who, are young guys, they’ve been on management courses, they’ve been on the coaching course they get the textbook theory, but what Kit has is experience in life and that comes with age and experience. So he brings a lot of that to it as well. You’re getting good wisdom along with a good skilled and experienced coach.Which three words would you use to describe the coaching process with Kit?
Deep
Vigorous
‘Being held accountable’
I want to throw the word challenging in there because it’s not easy. From any good coach, you expect to be challenged so you should be challenged. And he really challenges and that’s probably tying with the word vigorous.
How would you explain the coaching process to a friend or colleague?
It’s a diverse journey. He comes at your life be it personal and business from lots of different directions. And it’s like being cross examined by a good barrister and held to account. You get you get drilled.
